![]() |
The Christian Crocheters meet on the 1st Thursday of each month at 7pm in the fellowship hall but check the calendar for the exact location. You do not have to be a church member in order to come to this meeting. This is for anyone that would like to know how to crochet. We accept any and all donations of yarn as we are always in need. Our regular ministries are chemo caps, pediatric iv covers and seafarers caps as well as Snuggles Project (for the local animal shelters), and lapghans for senior citizens. We also try to keep prayer shawls (women) and prayer pillows (men) for church members that have lost a spouse or a parent. 2009 was been a wonderful year for our ministry as we’ve been blessed, presenting hundreds of chemo caps, both for summer and winter wear, several prayer shawls, prayer pillows, baby blankets, over 100 winter hats for a Christmas in August missionary for a ministry in Shelby, NC as well as 54 Seafarers caps that were sent to the Charleston Baptist Association for donation to those coming into the Port of Charleston. We were also able to present small lace cross ornaments to those we caroled to in December. This year, along with our current ministries, we’ll be doing a little something a little different. Beginning in January, we’ll start a “calendar-ghan”. We’ll learn one square each month ending in December. You’ll be able to join your month squares to make a small blanket, or make several squares to make larger ones. We’ll offer groups in between meetings for those that would like to learn to crochet! If you are interested in learning, Please contact Andrea Adams!
