Faith Pledge

Dear Beulah Family,

This truly is an exciting letter to be able to send each of you. The past few years have been busy and exciting to all of us. We have watched God bless us in so many ways. As you are all aware we have completed the purchase of the land next to our church for future growth and we have almost completed the new children's playground. We are continuing to build a solid foundation for our future as God provides for and leads us.

Our Deacons and Long Range Planning Committee have moved us forward in God's plan and we are now looking into the next phases of our ministry. When we voted to purchase the land and build a new play area for our children, we had the funding to complete the work. We did this with the understanding that we would replenish our building fund once completed. The Deacons and I are now asking each of you to join with us in prayer and a commitment to begin building for tomorrow's ministry. By building for tomorrow, what this means is to claim the victory that God will lead, empower, fulfill and provide for all our spiritual, emotional, and physical needs as a congregation.

Our Deacons have asked for us to begin in May with a Faith Pledge Program to replenish our Building Fund and to begin looking at the next stage of our growth. During our past building projects we used a Faith Pledge Program and a 15 year debt of $150,000 was paid off in 4 years. This shows how God blesses when we are obedient and faithful.

The Deacons want to move our church forward in 2 steps. The first step is to replenish our building fund of the amount spent this year in growth and land purchase. The second step is to have the Long Range Planning Committee begin looking at what God wants next. They will then present to the church their recommendations for future needs. I ask you to be in prayer for this committee; they take their responsibility extremely serious and need your prayers more than ever.

To begin I know many of you probably have never heard of a Faith Pledge. It is a way for each of us to grow closer to God in faith, to prove our faithfulness in following God's will, to discover how God truly will provide for your needs, and to help Him build His work through our church. A Faith Pledge is an opportunity for each church member of affiliate of our church to sincerely pray and ask God how they can help financially by giving to our building fund. This Faith Pledge is an amount you and God decide on. This amount can be given weekly, monthly or however you and God decide. This Faith Pledge is for a time period of 1 year.

Remember, this amount is in faith and is to be above your regular tithes and offerings. The amount is your commitment to provide for the future of our ministry. Only you and our treasurer will know the amount. The Deacons and I will only know a total amount given to us by the Treasurer, pledged so we can plan for the future. We are asking each of you to take part in this; even the youth and children can do this. During our last Pledge effort we had children pledge $1.00. I'll bet God smiled upon those children as they showed faith in Him.

In a Faith Pledge, if for some reason you are unable to make your pledge a week, a month or even an extended period of time, no one will ever contact you requesting your Pledge amount. God is the one you are partnering with and He knows your situation better than any of us can. Just pray and ask God for His direction of what to do and He will lead you.

In the first step we are seeking $35,000 over a period of 1 year. This is a small amount but will replenish our building fund. This will give the Long Range Committee time to pray about God's next step for us. During our last pledge effort we raised over $50,000 in less than 6 months. We were also a much smaller congregation then.

Another mailing will be sent shortly, giving you more details. It will also include a pledge card and offering envelopes. If you need more pledge cards you can find them here as well as contacting the church office. On May 17th we will have a special service to commit our Pledge to God. Each of you can be a part of seeing God work and be blessed through this.

Begin your prayers today by asking God how you can help. Join with us in our ministry at Beulah. Become a partner with God in fulfilling the Great Commission. Test your faith by going into an unknown area of your life. Let God show you what He can do when you are faithful and listen and trust Him.

In God's Love

Pastor Rick
