30 Hour Famine

What is the 30 hour famine you ask? It is a program that is designed to give the participants a taste of what it is like to be hungry and homeless. For 30 hours the participants live in cardboard boxes and go without food in a controlled environment. They participate in programs that are designed to allow them the experience and gain the knowledge of what it is like to live day to day without food and housing. They also have sponsors to help raise money to feed and shelter the homeless. This year each Church can decide where the funds will go. Check out the 30 hour famine site for more detailed information. There is also more famine facts here.

The participants have received their donation packets and will be asking for you’re help. Please consider giving to this ministry. About 25,000 children starve to death in our world each day and with this program, $1 can feed a child for a day!

If you’d like to help in any way or participate in the famine this year, please let Andrea or Jade know.
